Egg Hunt
A game made for the Mini Jam 99: Birds. The limitation for the jam was "Can't stop moving" and I interpreted it as a platformer in which one can only jump and change direction (Walking is automatic). This is my second ever attended game jam (First was ScoreSpace #17). I did have less time than usual because of Chinese New Year, but I still managed to finish.
NOTE: Walking off a platform does not consume your jump and you can jump mid-air.
Gameplay Controls:
You(the chicken) automatically walk in the direction you are facing
D or Right arrow key to face right.
A or Left arrow key to face left.
Space or W or Up arrow key to jump.
Gameplay Elements:
'Lightning bolt' powerup increases speed for a duration.
'Wing' powerup gives you an extra jump (will not be consumed if the player can already jump).
Laser tile periodically shoots a long piercing laser through terrain.
Spike tiles kill the chicken/player.
Sawblades move between two positions in a interpolating pattern.
Slime bounces the player up and does not consume a jump.
Arrow is cosmetic.
