A very "calm" arcade style space shooter. This game was made for the ScoreSpace #17 Game Jam which has the theme "Protect". This is my first ever attended Game Jam and even though Chinese New Year took some time from me, I still managed to finish. Gameplay instructions are found within the main menu as a button and is scrollable. Includes a local(not online) leaderboard.

Game Instructions:

WASD to move and use the mouse to rotate.

All upgrades, when repeated, become secondary upgrades which provide some sort of upgrade to the original upgrade of their type.

All weapons automatically fire.

Attempt to defend the mothership(big nonmoving ship) from the waves of enemies.

The player has an exp bar and experience points are dropped by enemies, If the player levels up, the player gets to choose an upgrade out of a selection of two.

The Spaceship (health bar on the left) respawns if it dies and keeps its upgrades.

The player automatically regens at a constant rate.

Gameplay:

The top right circular image is a minimap which stays centered around the mothership.

The left health bar is the Spaceship health and the right health bar is the Mothership health(game objective).

Enemies and the Spaceship take damage when colliding.

Enemy bullets go through enemies, but friendly bullets do not pass through allies(spaceship and mothership). Friendly bullets do not, however, deal damage to allies.

The Upgrade Menu does not stop gameplay. Fast decision making is vital.

Types of enemies:

-Average enemy with two guns.

-A tank with a weak gun but a lot of health.

-A small glass cannon(low health, high damage).

-A slow firing energy cannon spaceship.

-A sniper which has long range and powerful bullets.

-A enemy which rams you and deals a lot of ramming damage.

-A enemy which collides with you and explodes.

Types of upgrades:

-A two barreled gun which shoots forward.

-A powerful, piercing, but slow firing energy cannon

-A constant pulsing forcefield which pushes back enemies and deals minor amounts of damage

-Constant mines dropping behind the player which explode upon contacting an enemy.

-A one barreled gun which automatically targets enemies.

-A one barreled rocket launcher which shoots explosive rockets in front of the spaceship

-A octo-gun which shoots 8 bullets at each corner of the spaceship(two per corner)

-A slow firing ring-gun which shoots 100 bullets all around the player

-Temporary invincibility for the Player

-A maximum health increase and a corresponding minor health boost 

-A regeneration increase.
